Eye Candy

 

One of my best friends has given me one of the best gifts in the world.  She has blessed me for the past 5 years with the gift of amazing heart-warming pictures of my family.  If you come to my house or look on my FB page or my blog, chances are you have seen her work.  She has almost every picture of my girls that I own!  She is amazing!  Words cannot express how amazing she is.  She has this uncanny ability to capture every intimate and subtle detail of every one of my family members.  Every picture I see of one of my girls reflects every part of their personality perfectly.  When I see how fast my girls are growing up, It makes me appreciate her work even more.  I will never get the last 4 or 7 years back, but I will always have those pictures.  If you or someone you know needs pictures...or heck, if you just haven't had them done in a while...do yourself a favor contact Serena, owner of S. Week in photos

I just had a blogger breakthrough...if I start a post on mobile blogger with my phone and add in the pictures and save it as a draft and then go in on my computer, it saves the pics and I can comment on each one instead of a post with pics at the end!  Score!

Our week...wow...it was a whirlwind!  I had a baby shower for a sweet friend from church on Wednesday.  Along with some outfits, I made some bows...they turned out super cute!!!  I can't wait to meet baby Emery...I am a little biased because I get to watch her in April and May...Can't wait for some sweet baby snuggles!

She is a teacher and grew up here in town, so lots of love was shown...also its so fun to shop for a girl!!!  This is only a small part of the gifts!  Baby Emery will be well dressed!

I have mixed feelings about the weather.  On one hand, I miss the snow and cold and I wish it were more like winter.  On the other hand, mild winters can be kinda nice!  I guess 70+ degree weather is more pleasant than 3+ feet of snow...hang in there New Englanders!

Bria helped me do dishes this afternoon...she dried all the pots and pans...then she helped me make the pasta for Pasta Rollatini tonight.  It turned out great and is definitely a keeper recipe.

Bria, Mike and I had a rousing Hungry Hungry Hippos tournament the other day.  It was quite fun!

We currently have NO plans tomorrow...and you have no idea how happy this makes me!!!  Sunday is our church's Sweetheart Banquet.  It should be a lot of fun, but I admit that I have no idea what to expect.  Our philosophy this first year is to experience it this year so we know whats going on for next year!  Ha!  Enjoy your weekend!

Phones and books

Mike has been having trouble with his phone...first a pixel in the screen went out causing a horizontal and vertical line to form across the screen.  We have the replacement insurance so we got a new one.  Screen is great but it has a broken microphone so no one can hear him when he is talking on the phone.  Called...got a new one today and we are hopeful but it appears that the antenna is not working properly ..we will see...so it sppears we are collecting broken verizon phones...joy!

Today while mk was at ballet, Bria and I went across the street to the abilene public library.  We cant get a free card and check out books because we dont live in taylor county but we spent a while sitting a reading.  I think we read at least 10 books!  It helped the time pass.

Shenanigans

On the occasional morning that we are up early or the bus is running late, Mk likes to be silly.  Sometimes she marches or dances around the living room in a silly way...sometimes she makes her stuffed animals talk..silliness and shenanigans!  This morning she decided to wrap daddy in blankets and put her bears on his head!  Enjoy her silliness!

Chef in training

On Saturday evening I taught mk how to make chocolate chip cookies.  Teaching her how to cook is definitely stretching my patience...part of me wants to take over and do it for her...part of me cringes every time flour hits the floor..but shes gotta learn sometime!  She did great.  I am considering putting a simple cookbook together for her so she can follow along and feel like she has recipes she can make (with supervision).

Week in photos

Here's what we were up to this week...on a side note I hate that I cant write in between photos with mobile nligging...only type then add pics...hmmm...if anyone knows a way around that let me know. 

So here's a summation of the pics:
I tried a new recipe for dinner last night...venison bacon burgers with bacon inside the burger...very good!  We busted out the popc orn maker for family night last night...we use organic coconut oil in it and it is so delicious!  No butter needed!  My mom taught Bria how to play tic-tac-toe..to which she responded "hey...im getting pretty good at winning!"  Bria has decided that my high heels are hers...she clomps around the house and I never know where I will find my shoes!  Also this week mk has had a cc tough time with her asthma...not sure why...she doesnt have a cold, but we have been using our nebulizer like crazy!   

Sunday we will be enjiying some yummy food and watching the super bowl.  We will be rooting for the 49ers only because we HATE the ravens!  Hope your weekend is great!
