School's Back!

Last week marked the first day of school for Mary Kate.  First day as a Rotan Yellowhammer!  First day of 2nd Grade!  First school that she got to wear anything she wanted to, no uniforms!  Enjoy some pics!

Mk and Bria (wishing she could go to school) on the 1st day!

Posing in her "not uniform" school clothes

More posing!

My big girl!  Can't believe she is already a 2nd grader!

Bria wanted to go to school too, so we at least took a picture!

Outside the cafeteria with her nametag getting ready to eat breakfast at school for the first time.  In Rotan, everyone gets free breakfast!

In case you couldn't read that name tag, at the bottom it says class of 2023!  2023!  I know it is not really that close, but putting a number, a date on it, makes it so much more real!

Makin it Official!

This past sunday I had the overwhelming joy of watching my husband baptize our 7 year old daughter, Mary Kate.  Mary Kate made a profession of faith when she was 4, but we weren't sure if she was ready to be baptized.  We wanted her to fully understand what it meant.  We wanted her baptism to be memorable and meaningful to her.  About a year ago MK expressed interest in getting baptized and started talking to Mike.  However she wanted Mike to baptize her.  This wasn't possible at our last church as Mike wasn't on staff there, so a couple of weeks ago, MK walked the aisle here at our new church where Mike is the Senior Pastor.  I am so proud to be her mom.  She is amazing, and I know every mom says that, but really, she is.  I have had the privilege of watching her start to bear fruit.  Kindness, Love, Compassion, her heart for sharing Jesus with her friends and everyone rivals that of commissioned missionaries!  I can't wait to see what God has in store for my little girl and I am so thankful that I am along for the ride!  Enjoy this video of her baptism!

New Normal

So I was thinking about blogging (for the past 3 months since I haven't blogged in forever) and decided that a new blog was in order.  When I started our old blog we were in seminary and even the address reflects that.  Swbts is in the name.  Now we have moved out to Rotan, TX and have started our first pastorate and somehow with all the change, it feels like the blog should change too.  So here we are, the new normal, new blog, new job, new adventures all at our new doorstep...stay tuned, I am sure it will be a crazy ride!
